WHY WALK?

CASA of Midwest Kentucky, Inc. has been advocating for child victims who find themselves entangled in the child welfare system when their parents can’t or won’t care for them. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to get to know the child’s situation and offer objective, informed recommendations about what services and outcomes are in his/her best interest. Our program has trained advocates serving children in Hopkins, Henderson, Crittenden, Union, Muhlenberg, and Webster Counties. Over 700 children needed our services last year and we were able to help 120 of them!

Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes.

WHERE?

We will host the CASA Superhero WALK this year at Aubudon Mills Park in Henderson to ensure we can continue serving all children referred to our program. We hope that you will join us for a beautiful walk to bring awareness to "Child Abuse Prevention" and help us spread hope! This is a change from our previous years of a virtual race! We are so excited to be in person this year!

SuperHero Walk

9:00 a.m. registration/booths open (come see SuperHeroes, get your face-painted, pick up your t-shirt if you preregistered, check out the food trucks, etc.)
10:00 a.m. Walk starts!

Superhero costumes are encouraged, but not required! We are excited to have an in-person event this year. A beautiful walk in a picturesque park in the heart of Henderson County’s riverfront! There will be prizes for best costume, best group costumes, and a fun scavenger hunt for the kids along the walk! You can meet others who are community-minded from throughout our service area! There will be a food truck on site to keep people caffeinated and fueled for the walk. Also, be on the lookout for superheroes along the walk!!!

A minimum donation of $30 will get you a t-shirt if you pre-register!

Children 12 and under who register for a $10 donation will receive a cape!

Registration Tent will open at 9 a.m. If you pre-registered, you can pick up your t-shirt/cape. There will be an information booth to learn more about ways to help child victims and CASA. The group walk will begin at 10 a.m. Songbird LemonShake-Ups and Mr. D’s Food Trucks will be on site! Local Community Heroes will have booths set up too!
